Immunotherapy Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

+ How do I get immunotherapy?

We will discuss this during your clinic appointment and help you choose if immunotherapy is a suitable treatment option for you. If so we will discuss initial prescription and ordering practicalities.

**+ How do I order ongoing immunotherapy? **

Normally a plan for ongoing immunotherapy is arranged at time of your first kit order. This ongoing immunotherapy is usually sent directly to your GP for dosing. You must be seen at least once a year by your allergy specialist for this ongoing provision.

**+ When will my immunotherapy arrive? **

Immunotherapy medication is made to order in Europe, before being shipped to the specified delivery clinic. From the time of payment/placing the order, the Australian distributor quotes a delivery time of around 8-12 weeks.

**+ Why does it take so long for immunotherapy to arrive? **

Most injectable immunotherapy is produced for that specific person's individual prescription. This prescription once transmitted to the Australian distributor, is then sent to the European manufacturer for production. After the immunotherapy is produced and approved to European quality standards, it is shipped to Australia.
Once in Australia it is inspected by Australian Customs & Quarantine Services before release to the Australian distributor. The Australian distributor then couriers the product to our clinic, or your GP clinic (specified at time of order). Due to the many organisations involved, the timelines for arrival vary significantly at different times of year.

**+ What do I do if my immunotherapy hasn't arrived in time for my next scheduled dose? **

The clinical guideline we have provided for you local doctor/GP contains information on how to manage the dosage if there is a longer interval between doses than scheduled. Please check that your future re-order date matches your likely usage to avoid future issues.

**+ How do I change the re-order date on my immunotherapy plan to match my usage? **

We can set your automatic plan re-order to occur on any day of you choosing [with delivery estimated within 8-12 weeks after that date]. Just contact us with your request and we will amend it for your next order.

**+ Why have I paid for another immunotherapy kit when I haven’t finished the last one yet? **

Because of the 8-12 week delivery lead-time from time of order, you will still likely have 8-12 weeks left on your current kit when the automatic re-order occurs. Automatic re-orders usually recur every 5 months. This is so you do not need to remember to re-order, and so the following kit should be available in good time so there is no gap in therapy. NOTE: Your FIRST reorder will occur after 2 months - to account for the fact that you collected your starting kit in your appointment. Re-orders will then be every 5 month going forward so a new fit will arrive when the old is finished.

**+ Can I change the delivery address for my immunotherapy? **

Yes. Delivery can be set to any medical clinic. Please email us with the details. Please note: it may not be possible to change the delivery address if it has already been shipped within Australia.

**+ Can I change the credit card payment details? **

Yes. Please do so securely using the "Manage Plan" link at the bottom of the automated emails from the payment system [MoonClerk]

**+ Can I get a receipt to claim on my Private Health Insurance? **

Immunotherapy may claimable under "Extras" cover for some private health as a non-PBS medication. Please check your insurance to see if this is covered under your policy. A receipt for private health insurance will be automatically generated and emailed to you when a payment is made.

**+ What if I need to stop my recurring immunotherapy order? **
